# How to change profile language

By default, Incogniton sets a profile's language based on its proxy location. If you need the profile to use a different language regardless of where its proxy is located, you can set this manually following the steps below:

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

#### Open the Details tab

Open the profile editor.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Turn off Fill language based on IP

On the Details tab, turn off **Fill language based on IP**, then click **Edit** next to the **Language** field.

<div data-with-frame="true"><figure><img src="/files/zpVKNH7P15DCLHN0yih8" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Select your language

In the **Select languages** panel, search for a language and use the arrows to move it from **Possible languages** into **Selected languages**.

<div data-with-frame="true"><figure><img src="/files/F3kwCWL1juOQFJrRMbjh" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

You can select multiple languages and use the up and down arrows to set their priority order.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Save your changes

Click **Save** to apply your changes.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

Your profile now uses the language you selected, regardless of where its proxy is located. Note that this change does not revert automatically even if you change the proxy later.
