# Group profiles

Groups let you organize profiles into meaningful categories that fit your workflow, such as client accounts, projects, departments, team members, regions, or testing environments. You can also run automation tasks across an entire group at once, such as launching or stopping all its profiles.

### Create a group

You can create a group directly from the left sidebar at any time. Once created, the group appears in the sidebar and in the **Groups** tab, where you can manage it alongside your other groups.

Follow these steps to create a new group:

1. Click the **Create new group** button in the left sidebar.
2. Enter a name for the group in the **Group name** field. Choose a descriptive name that makes it easy to identify the profiles that will belong to the group.
3. Click **Create**. The new group is added to the sidebar and is ready to have profiles assigned to it.

If you're already in the **Groups** tab, you can also click **+ New group** in the top right corner. It opens the same dialog and works the same way.

### Assign a profile to a group

Each profile belongs to one group at a time. The **Move profile to group** dialog lists all existing groups and identifies the profile's current group.

1. In the profile list, click the three-dot menu on the profile you want to move.
2. Click **Move to Group** to open the group selection dialog.
3. Select the destination group. The profile is moved immediately.

If the required group doesn't exist yet, create it directly from the same dialog:

1. Enter a name in the **Create new group name** field.
2. Click **Create and assign**. The group is created and the profile is moved to it.

The newly created group appears in the sidebar automatically.

### Remove a profile from a group

To remove a profile from its current group, move it to **Unassigned**. This removes only the group assignment; the profile's settings and data remain unchanged.

1. In the profile list, click the three-dot menu on the profile you want to move.
2. Click **Move to Group**.
3. Select **Unassigned**. The profile is removed from its current group and placed in the default group.

**Unassigned** is the default group for profiles that aren't part of a custom group. It can't be renamed or deleted.

### Rename a group

Renaming a group updates the group name only. Profiles in the group are unaffected.

To update a group's name, follow these steps:

1. Click the **Groups** tab.
2. Click **Edit** next to the group you want to rename.
3. Enter the new group name.
4. Click **Save** to apply the change.

### Delete a group

Deleting a group moves all its profiles to **Unassigned**. The profiles themselves are not deleted.

Follow these steps to remove a group:

1. Click the **Groups** tab to open the group management view.
2. Click **Delete** next to the group you want to delete.
3. Confirm the deletion. All profiles in the group are moved to **Unassigned**.
